Stéphane Malassine is a French-born American photographer based in New York City. Raised on the West Coast, he relocated from Santa Barbara to New York in 1997, where he honed his craft working alongside some of the most influential fashion and portrait photographers of our time, including Richard Avedon, Arthur Elgort, Steven Meisel, Mary Ellen Mark, Max Vadukul, and Mark Seliger.
Over the course of thirteen years, Stéphane traveled extensively, producing more than a thousand editorials and advertising campaigns. These experiences not only brought him into contact with leading artists and cultural figures but also instilled in him a deep understanding of excellence and a mastery of both technical precision and creative vision.
In parallel with his commercial career, Stéphane has devoted himself to black-and-white fine art photography, pursuing lifelong personal projects that explore light, form, and the human spirit. His works are held in museum collections on the West Coast and in private collections worldwide.
